Weekend Beginner's

Silversmithing Course

During this weekend introductory course you will be given set projects that will develop the skills you need to start working on your own designs. The projects include making a chain bracelet, earrings and a spinning ring. Your tutor, Leah, will be on hand to guide you step by step and ensure you take home jewellery to be proud of.

The course runs from 10:30 until 17:00 on both the Saturday and Sunday, with an hour’s break for lunch usually starting around 12:00. Available dates are shown in green or amber on the calendar when booking. Please note that the calendar only shows the first day of the course but it does run over the two weekend days.

All tools and materials are included in the price and you can help yourself to as much tea and coffee as you like. There are several places that sell good food nearby or feel free to bring a packed lunch. There is also a microwave in the studio's kitchen which you are welcome to use.

The sessions are held in the basement of our premises at 59 The Old High Street, Folkestone, CT20 1RN. There are a number of steps to the basement so this may be difficult for those with mobility issues.

There is no vehicle access to The Old High Street during the day but there is a bus stop a short walk away on Tontine Street. The nearest car park, on Tram Road, is also located nearby. The parking fee is £1.20 per hour up to a maximum of £8 for the whole day.
